Meet Lynn Tauchen

Lynn is a Virginian, having left her South Carolina roots behind in 1991 after finishing her degree in Psychology. She has been in the real estate industry ever since. Richmond is her home and loves that it is so close to the coast and a short ride to the mountains. She and her family every summer boating, swimming, and feeling at peace at her favorite destination: Virginia’s Smith Mountain Lake.

Starting as a legal assistant to a corporate real estate attorney down in Shockoe Slip, learning about acquisitions and variances, she moved into residential law and helped to process and close purchase and relocation transactions for a prominent attorney. Eager to learn other facets of real estate, she joined Circuit City and managed over 30 retail stores, gaining an education in lease abstracts, common area maintenance and dispute resolution. She finished off this chapter of her career at Ntelos, managing ground leases for tower, antenna and electronic equipment. After 10 years with Ntelos, she retired to welcome her third child and care for her terminally ill husband.

Retirement was bittersweet. Lynn loved the flexibility of being there for her 3 children. Whether it was shuttling kids to soccer practices and games, taking care of her neighbors’ kids after school, sitting with her husband for his treatments or volunteering with hospice patients, her heart was full. After her husband’s passing, she knew she wanted to return back to the real estate world.

With such a diverse background in the field, Lynn earned her real estate sales license in February 2022. She has been extremely successful in helping her clients purchase and sell homes and her integrity, excellent communication skills, commitment to industry practices and humor make her a great companion to any real estate transaction.

Where did the name Red Dog come from? Glad you asked! Lynn’s late husband, Joe Tauchen, always drew a dog head on the cards and notes he gave Lynn and the kids. One time, he made a video and used “Red Dog Productions” with the dog head in the credits. Red Dog Realty was created to honor him. The dog in the logo was taken directly from one of his drawings, as well as the flowers.
